ABOUT ABOUT

World Premiere | A Full-Length Classical Ballet in Two Acts

Original Choreography by Vadim Fedotov

Music Composed by Adolphe Charles Adam (b. 1803 - 1856)

A timeless story of love & betrayal, Giselle reveals the dark and virulent side of human nature.

Billowy, white spirits are envoys of a mysterious world. A fragile heart throbs longingly in a girl so beautiful, so light, so pure that when touched, she vanishes. Young girls whose love was never fulfilled because of intervening powers, dance impassioned with their anger at death. This is a story about real people and the pitiless fate that pins its characters onto a tapestry of broken promises and broken love.

An award-winning school, The International City School of Ballet (ICSB) presents a quintessential work of the classical repertoire for its 2016 Spring Gala production. With a strong Corps de Ballet and lead dancers who effectively carry the narrative as skilled actors, the students' performance of Giselle demonstrates an uncommonly strong collective identity characterized by an impeccable sense of stylistic unity with a true soul for classical ballet.

With the fine workmanship of a brand-new wardrobe, beautiful sets, compelling choreography that features the students as well as our distinguished guest principal artists, ICSB's Giselle is truly a professional-level production in every aspect. Hungry to embody the characters, the dancers of ICSB present the work with a level of honesty that will only leave audiences wanting more.

We warmly welcome you to the theatre – prepare to be mesmerized by the raw drama of Giselle. You may leave the theatre, but Giselle will never leave you.

Total Running Time: Approx. 2 hours 15 minutes, one intermission.
